City Locations in Bad Weather
The unanticipated strong winds and endless rain are probably one of the few things beyond your control on your wedding day. In addition to Melbourne’s notorious ‘four seasons in a day’ erratic temper, then it is more than likely that your graceful veil, exquisitely detailed white dress, and all the meticulous preparations made for your photoshoot will be washed away with the rain. Many brides make this novice mistake, resulting in more hours adjusting, relocating, and starting the shoot all over. In all my 14 years of experience as a wedding photographer, the most frequently asked question may be “where can you find a location that we can take our wedding photos without the worry of bad weather?” If that is your itching question, here are some of my suggestions. Located in Melbourne’s city center and surrounding suburbs, hopefully, you too can find a place to avoid crazy weather whilst taking beautiful bridal shots.
Parliament House
Without a doubt, Melbourne’s most seasoned architectural artifact – Parliament House is a leading contender. Located near the CBD’s edge on Spring Street, Parliament House’s long-standing history and timeless design is the perfect setting for any bride and groom to be.
Main Characteristics
Over a century ago, before the age of Melbourne’s characteristic trams, one could often hear the crisp pitter-pattering of horse-drawn carriages treading past. Through a flawless blend of dusted pavements, smooth stone steps, and arabesque streetlamps, Parliament House purely embodies the ideals of neoclassical architecture in Australia. With its stately reputation and distinguished beauty, Parliament House is a token of our history and my most highly recommended location for period-style photos.

A group of students lies hazily on the green grass under the bell tower, the afternoon sun filters through the parasol trees lining the pavement and the fallen leaves cloak the surface of the pond. The outstretched passage by the Law building is like a step through the large gates of the school of magic – Hogwarts.
